Introduction on Buddhadhamma

Picture 204 In Buddhism or Buddhadhamma, there are three monastic schools, namely Theravàda, Mahàyàna and Tantrayàna. They are the main Buddhist religious traditional schools. The center of Theravada is Sri Lanka. The center of Mahayana is China. And the center of Tantrayàna is Tibet. Pond religion has magical thing the common people accepted Tantrayàna. According to Theravàda, the ultimate goal is Nibbàna. But it can be realized in three ways namely, Arhata, Paccekabuddha and Sammàsambuddha. While according to Mahayana, it can be realized only one-way that is Buddhahood.

    Core of Samadhi

The core of mind-cultivation practice (Bhàvanà)
    By Dr. Venerable Sheelratna Bodhi

How many kinds of food exist as you know?
Most of you would be answering that there are two kinds of food exist namely Veggie and Non-veggie. This kind of thinking has been made by Brahmins. They say that who take food veggie are better then other, while they are the ones who used to eat non-veggie through out history by performing Yàgas or Yajnas such as follow:
Go Yàga means Killing and burning of cows and eating its flesh.
ASHVAMEDH Yàga means Killing and burning of horses and eating its flesh), NARA MEDH Yàga means Killing and burning of Human and eating its flesh.
Buddha had condemned this kind of thinking and action. According Buddha, there are four kinds of food as follow:
    (1) Kabalikàra âhara or Food, which is taken through mouth.
    (2) Phassa âhàra or Food, which is taken through sense organs.
    (3) Manosaïchetana âhàra or Food, which is taken though mind that is Kamma âhàra.
    (4) Vi¤¤àõa âhàra or Food of Knowledge.
According to these kind of food one takes more makes one’s character. In other word, one develops one’s personality through which kinds of food one takes more or less.
If one takes more food Kabalikàra âhàra then one becomes fatter. One’s body is developed. If one takes very less this kind of food then one’s body become weak.
If one takes food of Phassa, then one becomes indulge of any one or many of six kind of sense indulged. This might bring bad result to one’s body and mind.
If one takes food of Manosaïcetana then one does good action more and more that makes one generous and visharadbhava or gets respect wherever one goes. If one does bad action then one gets punishments wherever one goes.
If one takes food of knowledge then one becomes knowledgeable person and one gets fame. But here one has to be mindful that weather one getting knowledge is good or bad knowledge. Because according to it one gets fame and defame too.
According Buddha or Buddhadhamma, there is a seed of bodhi or knowledge or Buddh¤ïkura inside every sentient beings. One needs to cultivate and develop it in order to get completer freedom from saüsàra or circle of birth and death.
Our mind is like a field. In field we grow various kinds of grain. In the same we in our cittabhåmi or field of mind, we can grow charity or greedy, love or hate, good-will or ill-will, good knowledge or bad knowledge, freedom or bondage. Just by praising or chanting anyone or god or any great person external, one never gets freedom inside. Unless one does not cultivate one’s mind and heart one cannot get enlightenment. Therefore, one should learn to be mindful while taking any kinds of food or all the time. One is whenever taking any kinds of food, one should be mindfulness, effortful and with wisdom.
One cannot live in past. It has gone. One cannot live in future it is not come yet. It is the present time one can live with. So live in present moment or time with right mindfulness, right effort and with right wisdom. This is the real life, and this is the core of mind-cultivation practice (Bhàvanà).
